Photoshoots!!!

I have been fortunate enough to be able to line up several photo shoots for the upcoming weeks!! I am very very excited about all of them. Most of them I will be doing for free. I would love to be able to make more income with photography, and hopefully that will happen one day. It is just hard to find people, especially in a town with this many photographers...

I am not upset about doing the shoots for free, though! I am really looking forward to each of them. I posted that I was holding a contest for a free photoshoot. If you wanted to enter, you had to send me a little history about you and your significant other. I was going to pick just one story and one couple for the photoshoot, but so many people's stories ended up touching my heart that I just couldn't say no. There are so many people here who never got to have a pretty wedding and had to get married in a court house with no family, because of deployments and other set backs due to the military. There are so many couples here who have been apart for so long, and are finally back together. So many husbands who are leaving soon, and the wives just want some beautiful pictures to have and look at while he is away. I want to be able to make these people happy, and give them beautiful pictures that they deserve! And I certainly know that money can be tight sometimes on a military salary.

On another note, I hope eventually not all the shoots I do will be for free. Photography is a talent that takes time and effort on the photographers part. I don't mean to sound as rude as I probably will, but there are a lot of photographers in Jacksonville who really don't seem to put that time and effort into their art work. They get away with charging you 30 dollars for a session, and you end up with a type of picture that could be way better if you went to the right person. I'm not saying that I'm the best there is, but people need to realize that you get what you pay for. If you want really good, beautiful pictures, you need to invest some money into it. Plain and Simple. If you want crusty photos, pay 30 dollars.
